Children as Leaders
At St John's we are very lucky to have different school leaders that can help us with different aspects of school life. Our School Leaders are as follow:
School council.
We believe the school council plays an important role in providing opportunities for our pupils to become partners in their own education and make positive contributions to the school environment and ethos. We aim to do this by allowing children to have a ‘voice’, hearing and valuing their opinions and ideas. This helps to develop pupils’ recognition of themselves as worthwhile individuals with a right to be heard.
At St John’s, we believe that feeling valued helps to develop and promote self-confidence, social skills, responsible behaviour towards each other and towards teachers and adult members of staff.
Eco- Warriors
We want to help protect the planet for future generations and want the children to equally share this passion. The Eco-Warriors are able to help us to come up with ideas to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our Eco-Warriors also play an important role in helping to educated other children in the school and sometimes other family members.
E-Vengers
With so many people accessing the Internet being safe online has never been more important. In addition to teaching children how they can keep themselves online we have a small group of leaders that are called E-Vengers. Our E-vengers are a new set of leaders to the school. Their role is to share ideas on how we can keep Internet Safety in the forefront of peoples minds.
Playground Pals
Our Playground Pals are made up by a group of Year Two children. They work alongside the adults to teach children how to use the equipment correctly and safely. They look out for anyone who might be upset or lonely. At the start and end of break times and lunchtimes the Playground Pals are responsible for putting away the equipment safely.
Worship Ambassadors
Our Worship Ambassadors support collective worship and developing the Christian character of the school.
Library Monitors
A small group of children helps us keep our Library organised so that adults and children can find what they are looking for.
