This half term we are learning about different celebrations that many people celebrate. This week we have been learning about Diwali, the festival of light. In our Literacy lessons, we learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and talked about the different parts of the story and how the characters may have been feeling. We learnt that Hindu’s celebrate Diwali by having feasts with their families, lighting candles in Diva Lamps and watching fireworks. We then made our own Diva Lamps out of clay for our own celebration. On Friday, we sat in the hall and lit our Diva Lamps and pretended to watch fireworks. We also learnt a Diwali celebration dance.
