In Year 2, we immerse ourselves in topics such as The Rainforest, World War 1, Significant Women and Antartica. Throughout the academic year, our children will dive into fascinating stories, incredible facts and the lives of wonderful people. We strive to allow our children to explore varying aspects of the world in subjects such as R.E, Geography, History, Art and Science. In addition, we prepare our children for the next stage of their education in KS2. In maths, we use concrete resources, pictorial representations and abstract approaches to all mathematical principles taught. We also aim to ensure all children leave both reading fluently and reading for pleasure. In addition, our writing curriculum is designed to teach key grammatical skills, spelling and punctuation, composition and ultimately, to allow our children to think and write creatively. Our dedicated team includes Mrs Connew, Mrs Hayes, Ms Ryle, Mrs Coots, Mrs Whittaker and Mr Forrester.
