For our art sessions this term, the Year 2 children have been making carnival masks using Mod Roc. The children had to carefully mould the Mod Roc around a balloon and balance it in a bowl until it had set. Once the mask was set, children could decorate it with bright colours, glitter and feathers as we had noticed with existing carnival masks. The children were only given primary colours, so they needed to use their knowledge to make secondary and tertiary colours.
